Build Your Yaku!

Let's look at the points you receive when you achieve Agari.

For some reason, the scores are different.

Why is that?

Because WORJONG has rules that award more points for good tile combinations.

These rules for good combinations are called Yaku.

For example, making a sentence with 4 words, like YOU ARE BIG NOW, gives you the Yaku Grammar Complete, worth 3 Han.

Han is a number that measures the strength of a Yaku. More Han means more points.

Riichi is also a Yaku.

Achieving Agari after declaring Riichi gives you 1 Han.

You can actually achieve Agari without Riichi, but WORJONG requires at least 1 Yaku to achieve Agari.

Until you get used to the game, declare Riichi to get the Riichi Yaku.

For detailed rules on Yaku and Grammar Complete,

check the in-game dictionary.

Achieve Agari When You Are EAST!

The letters E S W N appear in the center of the table.

They show each player's current direction: EAST, SOUTH, WEST, or NORTH.

This E, S, W, or N is your own wind, called your Seat Wind.

When your Seat Wind is E, you have a big opportunity.

Your points for Agari are multiplied by 1.5.

However, if someone else achieves Tsumo Agari while your Seat Wind is E, you pay twice as many points as the others.

Seat Winds rotate counterclockwise each time play advances to the next round.

Collect Wind Tiles

E tiles when your Seat Wind is E, S tiles when your Seat Wind is S, and so on…

Holding multiple tiles with the same letter as your Seat Wind gives you a Yaku.

Also, in names like EAST 1 and SOUTH 1,

the round's E, S, W, or N is called the Round Wind,

and holding multiple tiles with the same letter as the Round Wind gives you a Yaku.

Anticipate changes in the winds and collect wind tiles ahead of time.

Collect Dora

The tile in the top left of the screen is called the dora indicator.

The next tile after the dora indicator in alphabetical order becomes a powerful tile called Dora.

For example, when the dora indicator is A, B is Dora. When the dora indicator is B, C is Dora.

Simply holding Dora when you achieve Agari increases your Han by the number of Dora you hold.

However, Dora is not a Yaku, so you need some Yaku other than Dora to achieve Agari.

Also, tiles with red letters, called red tiles, are special tiles that always count as Dora, regardless of the dora indicator.

The dora indicator changes when someone achieves Agari.

When you have Dora, try to achieve Agari quickly.
